Chairman’s Letter – News Extra!

Dear Kennet BeeKeeper,

This month you will be getting several emails from me – even though I usually like to keep to one a month.

First of all, on Saturday 27th of July between 9.00 am – 1.00 pm,  we have our Honey Extraction Master Class.  It is on a first come first serve basis but a minimum number is required to make the class viable so please contact Sophire Butcher by the end of this week if you wish to attend.  Email Sophie on:- hithergardens@gmail.com.  This will be something all beginners and many experienced beekeepers will benefit from, and my advice is to book your place now to avoid disappointment.

On Sunday 14 July (next Sunday) at 1.00 am we are holding the Grand Opening and Unvailing of the Honey Kitchen.  There will be a surprise person to open the site and KBKA will provide something for you to drink the toast, but I cannot guarantee that it will be in anything more than a mug unless you bring your own glass!  Do bring something to share if you can.  Just a bit of fun and a time to say thank you to all those who have made the apiary what it now is. If you have never been to the apiary this will be a good day to come along for just 15 minutes and find out what is going on. This will be followed by the usual apiary meeting.

John Hooper is looking for help at two fetes, which are Easterton Fete Monday 26th August, and UpAvon Fete 31st August. Can you help?  Contact John on KBKA WhatsApp (07595 265 802) or email:- johnhooper854@gmail.com

Also coming up later this month are the details of the DCA (Drone Congregation Area Walk) on 20th July and our KBKA Summer Garden Party in my garden on 3rd August for which I would like some help!  Any volunteers?  Do put both of these in your diary – full details emailed nearer the time.

All best wishes

Robert
